Below is a list of recommended supplies and tools for sewing projects.
In sewing, “notions” are the tools and small accessories used in a project.

This list is organized into three sections for clarity:

• Large Table (Dining Room Table or Folding Table work well)
• Iron
• Ironing Board
• Storage System for supplies and notions

Essential Notions

• Ball Head Straight Pins
• Gauge (6 inch ruler with a sliding piece in the middle)
• Scissors (Fiskars 8” Bent recommended)
• Seam Ripper
• Tape Measure
• Universal Sewing Machine Needles (Size 14 Regular is the standard size)
• Bobbins (Sewing Machine Specific – check Instruction Manual)

• Hand Sewing Needles
• Marking Pencil
• Pin Cushion (I recommend Grabbit magnetic pin cushion)
• Safety Pins (assorted sizes)
