About Classes

Creative Beginnings Workshop

I believe that every student is unique—and that belief is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. Each individual comes to sewing with their own motivation, learning style, pace, and set of strengths and challenges. My approach is to meet each student where they are, offering a fully customized learning experience tailored to their needs and goals.

There is no fixed curriculum or predetermined pace in my classes. Instead, I encourage students to choose projects that excite and inspire them. From the very first lesson, we dive into hands-on work, and I provide step-by-step guidance throughout the entire process. I don’t simply teach students how to complete a specific project—I teach them foundational skills and techniques that empower them to create anything they envision.

My focus is on building true understanding: I explain not just what to do, but why it’s done. This helps students develop the problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge necessary to grow as independent, confident makers.

Creativity and self-expression are strongly encouraged in my classes. I strive to create an environment where students feel supported, inspired, and proud of their accomplishments. Watching their confidence and skills evolve—while enjoying the creative process—is one of the most fulfilling parts of what I do.

But most of all, I’m honored to share in their Creative Beginnings.
